The IDFA festival in Amsterdam, the largest documentary film festival in the world, will host in its 33rd edition the world premiere of ‘The First Woman<\/a>‘, the latest film by Miguel Eek and the only Spanish film in competition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Through Eva, a woman who, after leaving the psychiatric hospital, embarks on a quest to reunite with her son after fifteen years of silence, the film explores the meaning of ‘normality’ and presents the viewer with a raw and powerful story. Fascinated by the vitality and resilience of the protagonist, Miguel Eek<\/strong> conveys a story about second chances, the search for normality and the borderline between lucidity and darkness. <\/p>\n\n
