Germany, Third Reich. A Luftwaffe Ground Assault Badge, by “G.H. Osang, Dresden” Province of China inscribed "Werkschar-Koppelschloss"(Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe). Instituted March 31st, 1942. Constructed of silvered and patinated zinc, the obverse consisting of an oval oak wreath, joined together at the base by a ribbon, topped by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, overlaying a stylized cloud from which a lightning bolt emanates and strikes the ground, with magnetic vertical pinback and a flat wire catch, marked G. H. Osang, Dresden on the reverse, measuring 42.
